Language Learning Frustration

During the winter this year, I somehow crept into a state of depression through a series of events. Naturally I couldn’t keep up my language learning to rigour I normally would and even now I’ve been struggling.

But why am I struggling now? I listen to my podcast every morning, hang out with Italian friends more than ever, go to a weekly small group Italian lesson, have subtitles in Italian and have all forms of social media in Italian.

I thought about the only two different things. I don’t have as much time by myself and …. drumroll- I’m not doing Duolingo everyday.

So here’s my challenge to myself:

Practise Duolingo consistently for the next two weeks to look for an improvement in my spoken and understood Italian.

Duolingo is a great way to create sentences, practise pronunciation and break up Italian into smaller parts.

Wish me luck,
