Learn From My Travel Inspiration Mistake

In case you don’t know, I’m actually off to Italy for a year! Yay! I’m really excited to finally learn the Italian language more fluently. I can’t wait to think, speak and understand Italian more automatically.

I have been following some key travel bloggers and Italian vloggers as part of my self-immersion all throughout the year. People like Lucrezia from Learn Italian with Lucrezia, friends I’ve made throughout my previous travels, Zoey Arielle, Lavendaire, Alberto Arrighini from ItalianAutomatico and Luke Pancoe from YLanguages, just to name a few.

Naturally, these people go out and socialise in all of my favourite Italian towns- Rome, Florence, Sorrento etc. I see the names of the bars they go to but find it too tiring and pointless to write down the names or even screenshot them. It would be even more of a bother to later find out where exactly each one is and search for the address.

HOWEVER, this morning it finally clicked. This whole time I could have been searching and saving the places in my maps app. That way, when I finally go to the city, I can open the search function and scroll down to ‘favourites’ (‘preferiti’ in Italian) and it will show all of the places that I had favourited.

Honestly, I’m pretty annoyed I didn’t think of it earlier!

At least you can learn from my mistake. Right now Europe is heading into winter and I missed out on saving all of the wonderful summer places to visit!
